Roulette Wagering Calculator: Bonus Requirements and Turnover

A wagering multiplier does not tell you the full amount you need to bet. The calculation also depends on what the multiplier applies to, how much roulette play counts and how much progress is already credited. Enter those terms below to calculate the remaining turnover.

Calculate the remaining wagering requirement

Use one currency throughout. Money and percentage inputs accept up to two decimal places, with a dot or comma as the decimal separator and no thousands separators. The initial figures are an illustration, not a current casino offer.

What does a 10x wagering requirement mean?

The multiplier is applied to a stated amount. If a 100 bonus has a 10x bonus-only requirement, the credited target is 1,000. If the same 10x applies to a 100 deposit plus a 100 bonus, it becomes 2,000.

The Behavioural Insights Team’s April 2024 report examined how people understood these two bases. Its policy recommendations are historical research, not the current rules for an offer.

For Great Britain, the Gambling Commission’s current rewards and bonuses code limits wagering requirements on bonus funds to 10 times and prohibits combining different gambling product types within one incentive. That product rule concerns categories such as betting and casino; it is not the same distinction as bonus-only versus deposit-plus-bonus arithmetic. The calculator’s two bases and input range are not a list of permitted offer terms.

Turnover is money staked, not money lost. A qualifying 2.00 bet contributes according to its stake and the offer’s counting rules. Its return is a separate calculation. You may reuse returned funds, but you cannot assume the balance will last until completion.

These are illustrative arithmetic examples. Read the terms applying to your account and location; the calculator does not determine whether a particular offer or multiplier is permitted in a jurisdiction.

How game contribution changes the amount you must bet

Game contribution is the fraction of a qualifying stake credited toward the wagering target. At 10%, a stake of 100 adds 10 of progress. At 100%, it adds 100. Contribution is not RTP, a chance of winning or a cashback rate.

None of these example rates is a universal rate for roulette. Find the entry for the exact game and offer. Live dealer, RNG and multiplier titles may be named separately; an offer can also exclude a game entirely.

Zero contribution and prohibited play are different questions

If contribution is zero, additional bets generate no progress. That does not establish whether using bonus funds on that game is allowed. Check both the contribution table and the exclusions. Increasing the stake cannot turn a zero contribution into progress.

Past progress must already be weighted

If you placed 500 in eligible bets at 20% contribution, the credited amount is 100. Enter 100 in the progress field. Entering 500 would incorrectly treat all of those stakes as fully qualifying.

When you change games, retain the credited total from the earlier play and use the new rate only for future bets. Do not revalue the whole history at the latest game’s contribution.

Worked example: from bonus terms to remaining rounds

Assume a 100 bonus with a 10x bonus-only requirement. The target is 1,000, and 100 is already credited. Roulette contributes 10%; each qualifying round stakes a total of 2.00.

  1. Remaining credit: 1,000 − 100 = 900.
  2. Raw turnover: 900 ÷ 0.10 = 9,000.
  3. Credit per round: 2 × 0.10 = 0.20.
  4. Full rounds: 900 ÷ 0.20 = 4,500.

The 9,000 figure is cumulative wagering, not an instruction to deposit 9,000 and not a predicted loss of 9,000. This calculation cannot tell whether the available balance can finance 4,500 rounds.

Contribution is applied after the target is calculated. Required turnover is not a deposit amount or a predicted loss.

A larger multiplier and a combined basis

As a separate arithmetic scenario, suppose terms state a 100 deposit plus a 100 bonus, a 35x multiplier and 20% roulette contribution. With no progress already credited, the target is (100 + 100) × 35 = 7,000. Required turnover is 7,000 ÷ 0.20 = 35,000; a fixed 5.00 round credits 1.00 and requires 7,000 complete rounds.

This is a hypothetical calculation, not a claim that these terms are typical, lawful in every market or currently offered. Use the exact qualifying rules rather than assuming that a larger advertised bonus is easier to convert.

What if the final round overshoots?

Suppose 1.00 of credit remains, contribution is 30%, and the fixed round stake is 2.00. Each round credits 0.60. You need two complete rounds, wagering 4.00 and crediting 1.20: an overshoot of 0.20.

The continuous turnover requirement is 1 ÷ 0.30 = 3.333…; the calculator displays 3.34 after rounding upward to the nearest 0.01. That is different from the 4.00 needed when every round must stake exactly 2.00. A smaller final stake is not assumed.

General formulas

Target T = multiplier × stated basis
Remaining credit R = T − credited progress
Required raw turnover = R ÷ c
Full rounds N = ceil(R ÷ (s × c))
Full-round turnover = N × s

The basis is the bonus alone or the stated deposit-plus-bonus amount. Contribution c is a decimal greater than zero; s is the full qualifying stake per round. The function ceil rounds upward to a whole number. At zero contribution, these bets cannot clear a positive remainder.

For mixed future play, credit is the sum of each stake multiplied by its own contribution. For example, 100 at 100% plus 500 at 20% earns 200 credit from 600 in raw bets. The calculator handles one constant future rate at a time.

Check wagering stake limits before choosing a round size

A per-round cap applies to the amount defined by the offer. If the maximum qualifying total is 5.00, placing 2.00 on each of three numbers creates a 6.00 round, even though every individual chip is below 5.00.

The optional limit field compares your entered total-round stake against that same type of cap. A cap defined per position, as a percentage of the bonus, or by some other rule needs separate interpretation. Leaving the field blank means no limit check is performed; it does not mean the offer has no limit.

Also check the time limit, how cancelled or void bets are treated, which balance is spent first, and whether cash and bonus stakes count differently. The displayed progress in the account may follow rounding or settlement rules not included in this simple model.

What does the house-edge cost estimate tell you?

For roulette wagering, the optional cost reference is planned full-round turnover × house edge. If 9,000 is wagered at an assumed 2.70% edge, the reference is 243.00. The rate is a rounded example; enter the figure supported by the exact rules in the RTP and expected-loss guide.

This is an expected game-loss calculation for playing the entire specified volume with the same edge. It is not the expected loss conditional on surviving to clear a bonus. A limited balance can run out earlier, and those stopped paths change actual turnover.

A lower edge does not by itself mean lower cost per unit of progress. For a positive contribution c and house edge h, the arithmetic cost per credited unit is h/c under the fixed-volume assumptions.

For example, an edge of 2.70% at 10% contribution gives 0.027/0.10 = 0.27 per credited unit. An illustrative 5% edge at 100% contribution gives 0.05. This compares only the turnover cost; it does not rank real offers, account for volatility or establish that either game is eligible.

Why bonus minus theoretical loss is not a cashout forecast

A bonus may not be withdrawable cash, and an offer can restrict maximum conversion or treat the original bonus differently from winnings. Deadlines, insufficient funds and other conditions also matter. Subtracting a cost reference from the advertised bonus ignores these parts of the problem.

Completion, expiry and “no wagering”

Meeting the arithmetic target means the entered credited requirement has been reached. It does not verify the account, release a particular balance, remove a cashout cap or confirm compliance with all promotional terms.

A zero multiplier produces a zero target in this tool. It does not prove that an advertised offer has no other qualifying spend, deposit requirement or time limit. Check what the promotion actually calls “no wagering” and which funds that description covers.

The calculator does not estimate time to completion. Round speed varies, interruptions happen and settling a round can matter for the deadline. A theoretical number of rounds should not be presented as a guaranteed way to finish before expiry.

Common questions

Does roulette always count toward wagering requirements?

No universal rate is assumed here. Use the contribution and eligibility rules for the specific offer and game. At zero contribution, these bets cannot reduce an outstanding target.

Should I enter winnings as completed wagering?

No. Enter credited turnover. A payout and the amount counted toward the requirement are different records; the account’s progress display should identify the latter.

Will a bigger stake reduce the total turnover required?

With the same positive contribution, the continuous turnover requirement stays R/c. A bigger stake changes the number of rounds and the final overshoot, and may violate the maximum stake.

Can Martingale guarantee that I clear a bonus?
