Red Door Roulette: Payouts, Bonus Odds and RTP

Red Door Roulette combines a single-zero wheel with key-marked numbers and a Crazy Time-style bonus. Its ordinary straight-up payout is 19:1. To understand a result, separate the number that wins, whether your bet qualifies for the bonus, and the amount actually returned across all your bets.

37 pockets

Numbers 1–36 and one zero.

19:1 base payout

For an ordinary straight-up winner.

Straight-up eligibility

A split covering the result is not the same as a chip on the number.

How Red Door Roulette keys and multipliers work

According to Evolution’s game description, bets close before the feature selection. A reel determines a count from 3 to 15, and keys are assigned to numbered spots. A winning straight-up bet on a qualifying key number gives access to the bonus.

From closed bets to the Red Door round returnAfter bets close, the roulette wheel and feature reel start. Keys and possible modifiers are assigned before the ball result settles. A winning straight-up bet with a qualifying key enters the 64-segment bonus wheel; other winning positions receive their applicable payouts. DOUBLE doubles the bonus values and triggers another spin, subject to the maximum. Combine final returns, apply the round cap, then subtract every stake. Eligibility follows the straight-up position. After settlement, add all credited returns and apply the round cap before calculating net profit.

Evolution describes 2x–20x modifiers that can increase a straight-up payout or carry into the Crazy Time bonus. When a qualifying key number also has a modifier, it scales the bonus wheel’s multiplier values before the spin. On that 64-segment wheel, DOUBLE doubles the displayed multiplier values and triggers another spin, as the provider’s game description specifies. Its launch announcement for the Spanish edition states a maximum multiplier of 4,000x. It also dates the global debut to 2023 and the Spanish localisation to 2025; a regional release does not establish availability at every operator. The table’s own help screen controls the version, monetary cap and settlement in use.

The Red Door is not the red outside bet. A stake on red covers 18 red numbers. It does not give straight-up eligibility on each of them. The same distinction applies to black, dozens, columns and inside combination bets.

Example: you have a split on 17–20, and 17 wins with a qualifying key. The split wins at its listed rate, but the split alone does not put you into the bonus. A separate straight-up chip on 17 is the eligible position.

Base payouts: profit versus money returned

A payout of 19:1 means 19 units of profit plus the winning one-unit stake back: 20 returned. It does not mean 19 returned in total. Standard European straight-up odds of 35:1 would return 36, so that default cannot be used for an ordinary Red Door straight-up win.

The straight-up rate is confirmed by Evolution; the full payout table is also reproduced by CasinoScores’ Red Door rules and payouts. Its listed straight-up range of 19–3,999:1 is a profit ratio: the top value corresponds to 4,000x gross, including the winning stake. A bonus or enhancement affects the qualifying straight-up settlement, not every bet covering that number.

For a winning stake s at profit odds a:1, gross return = s × (a + 1). Position profit is s × a. To find the result of a round with several bets, subtract every stake placed from the sum of all returns. The payout and net-profit guide explains this accounting for standard bets.

A Red Door round with four positions

Place 2 on straight-up 17, 1 on straight-up 20, 2 on the split 17–20 and 5 on black. Total stake: 10. Both 17 and 20 are black; the split is a valid adjacent position on the layout. Suppose 17 wins without a bonus or enhancement.

Straight-up 17240+38
Straight-up 2010−1
Split 17–20236+34
Black510+5
Whole round1086+76

The winning straight-up position earns 38, but the round’s profit is 76 after accounting for the other positions. Conversely, quoting 86 as “profit” would count the returned stakes as winnings.

Replacing the straight-up return after a feature

Now suppose the same winning straight-up position is credited a final gross return of 200 after its feature. This is an illustrative settlement amount, not a promised bonus outcome. The split still returns 36 and black returns 10. Total return is 200 + 36 + 10 = 246; round net is 246 − 10 = +236.

Use 200 in place of the ordinary straight-up return of 40. Do not add 40 again unless the actual settlement explicitly shows it as a separate additional credit. Also do not multiply a final credited amount by 19 or by an earlier modifier a second time.

A multiplier needs a defined base. “100x” could describe a final return multiple or an intermediate feature value. Read the payout definition before converting it into money. A final gross return multiple G on stake s gives return s × G; a profit ratio a:1 instead gives return s × (a + 1).

The multi-bet calculator helps analyse standard layouts. Its ordinary European straight-up setting is not a Red Door bonus engine: do not use the default 35:1 result as this game’s settlement.

Red Door bonus entry versus a number hit

Assume a fair wheel with 37 equally likely pockets. If you cover n distinct numbers straight-up, the probability of hitting one is n/37. Putting more chips on one number changes the money at stake, not the number of outcomes covered.

Once the keys are known, let m be the count of your straight-up numbers that qualify for bonus entry. If the feature assignment does not affect the wheel outcome, the probability of your bonus entry is m/37.

626/37 = 16.22%2/37 = 5.41%
666/37 = 16.22%6/37 = 16.22%

Six selected numbers do not mean six bonus opportunities in every round: only their overlap with the qualifying keys counts. Similarly, a bonus can occur at the table without you participating in it.

Before the keys are known

In a model with K qualifying key numbers chosen uniformly from 37, independently of the wheel, the probability of personal bonus entry for n preselected straight-up numbers is:

P(personal entry | K) = nK / 37².

For six preselected numbers, the following values average over the possible overlaps; they do not assume how frequently each key count is selected.

Qualifying key count KCalculationPersonal entry probability
318/13691.31%
954/13693.94%
1590/13696.57%

Within this uniform-assignment model and the stated K range, the two endpoint cases bound the probability at 1.31%–6.57%. The K = 9 row is only an intermediate scenario, not an assumed average. If the actual overlap is already known to be m = 2, use 2/37 = 5.41% instead.

This is a conditional model, not an official overall bonus frequency. The range 3–15 does not establish that every count is equally likely, so replacing it with an average of 9 without evidence is unjustified. An overall calculation requires the count distribution and the exact feature-assignment rules.

The roulette probability calculator can answer wheel-hit questions. Bonus entry requires the additional eligibility information; a wheel-hit probability alone is not enough.

RTP: why 97.30% is not the whole answer

Both the CasinoScores rules linked above and the Livedealer.org game review report 97.09% for straight-up bets and 97.30% for the other standard bets. The latter also notes that a monetary payout cap can reduce return. These are reported figures for the described version, not a fresh certification of every table.

Evolution’s public product description does not provide a full RTP breakdown or the probability weights for all feature outcomes. Check the in-game help for your table’s straight-up RTP, other-bet RTP and cap. A single headline percentage in a game lobby can omit this distinction.

97.09% reported RTP

Corresponds to 2.91% house edge. At 1,000 units of expected qualifying turnover, expected loss would be 29.10 under that figure.

36/37 standard return

Approximately 97.30%, usually displayed as 97.30%. Its exact complementary edge is 1/37.

RTP is an average

It does not specify the return on your next spin or the chance of a profitable session.

Why the 19:1 rate cannot produce the full RTP by itself

If a one-unit straight-up bet paid exactly 20 gross whenever it hit and nothing otherwise, its return would be 20/37 = 54.05%. That hypothetical calculation deliberately leaves out all enhancements. It is not the RTP of Red Door Roulette.

Reported RTP − base-only model = 97.09% − (20/37 × 100%) = 43.04 percentage points.

This is the implied incremental return above paying 20 gross on every number hit, using the reported RTP as an input. It is not the share paid by ordinary non-bonus hits: the baseline also assigns 20 to hits that would receive a feature in the real game. It does not reveal how that uplift divides between modifiers, bonus segments and DOUBLE spins.

For each non-straight-up row in the payout table, coverage × gross payout / 37 equals 36/37. Their 97.30% rounded RTP is therefore also derivable from the stated standard payouts, rather than only taken from a review.

To reproduce the complete straight-up RTP, each ordinary and feature outcome needs its probability and credited return. The 4,000x maximum says nothing about how often it occurs. A high maximum and a lower ordinary payout describe the distribution, not an independently calculated return percentage.

The payout cap applies to the whole round

CasinoScores publishes a €500,000 maximum payout per game round, including the player’s stake. That is a reported round-level rule, not a separate €500,000 allowance for each winning position. Confirm the cap and currency in the help for the table you use.

Let s be the stake on the winning straight-up number, G its final gross multiplier, R the combined gross return from the other winning positions, and T the total stake on all positions. Under that round-level gross cap:

Round return = min(€500,000, sG + R).
Round net = round return − T.

If there are no other winning positions, R = 0. At G = 4,000, a €125 stake returns exactly €500,000; the cap reduces the result only above €125. A €200 stake would return €800,000 before the cap and €500,000 after it.

Now keep the two-unit split on 17–20 and five-unit black bet from the example, treating each unit as €1. If 17 wins, those positions return R = €36 + €10 = €46. The straight-up threshold is now (€500,000 − €46)/4,000 = €124.9885. With €0.01 increments, €124.98 remains below the cap, while €124.99 already exceeds it. The other returns must not be added again after capping the whole round.

For example, s = €125 plus those €7 of other stakes gives uncapped return €500,046 and total stake €132. The round credits €500,000, so net is €499,868. This settlement example assumes those stakes and the 4,000x award are permitted; it is not a claim about their likelihood or a recommended stake.

Use the RTP and expected-loss explanation when comparing turnover costs. Neither a favourable run of bonuses nor a recent drought changes a published theoretical percentage.

What live statistics can tell you

A results tracker can help review past winning numbers, feature awards and the time between recorded rounds. For example, CasinoScores, linked with the payout table above, offers Red Door history with time-window filters. Its feed is historical information, not a forecast of the next key or wheel result.

When checking a session, record the table identity, timestamps, total stakes and total credited returns. A history page covering a different table or missing rounds cannot reconstruct your personal return accurately. A large multiplier in the feed is not proof that your selected number had an eligible stake.

A sample return is total credited returns divided by total stakes for a defined betting record. It may exceed 100% over a short interval. That is not a new theoretical RTP, and a feed without stake data cannot directly show your personal return.

Waiting for a “cold” number, a long bonus gap or a sequence of small awards does not establish an advantage under independent outcomes. The prediction and past-spin guide explains why apparent patterns need evidence beyond a selected history window.

Questions that change the calculation

Does a split on a key number qualify for the bonus?

No. A winning split settles as a split. Bonus participation requires a winning straight-up stake on the qualifying number.

Can zero receive a straight-up bet?

Yes. Zero is one of the wheel’s 37 numbered outcomes. Treat a straight-up zero stake separately from outside bets, which do not cover zero.

Does covering all 37 numbers guarantee a profit?

No. At one unit on each number, total stake is 37. If the result pays the ordinary 20-unit gross return, the round loses 17 units. Coverage guarantees a number hit, not that its return exceeds all stakes.

Is this the same as Lightning Roulette?

It shares a multiplier-based concept, but the key qualification and Red Door bonus require their own rules. Do not transfer another game’s payout rate or multiplier distribution. Compare the separate Lightning Roulette guide.

Comparing Red Door Roulette with other tables

Check the straight-up minimum, total round limit, payout cap and the table-specific help. Keep your intended total round stake separate from the amount on each number: six chips of 2 cost 12, even though only one numbered pocket can win.

Compare available table formats at https://roulettecalc.com/casinos/. For a different feature design, see the comparison of the two Pragmatic multiplier tables. Availability and limits should be checked for the table you can actually access. A staking progression changes exposure; it does not supply the missing probabilities of the bonus mechanism.

Use the table’s in-game help to confirm its payout rules, limits and RTP. Worked returns here distinguish gross credits from net profit; bonus probabilities are conditional on the eligibility assumptions stated above.
